Internships at SOCOBA

As a small start-up non-profit, we place a great deal of value on the hard work and dedication of our interns and volunteers. We encourage a “roundtable” environment where every opinion, thought, and idea is valued and considered, and we strongly urge our interns to define their role within the scope of our organization and make it their own. Past interns who have designed and taken ownership of their work have gained personally and professionally beyond their original expectations.

“Interning at SOCOBA has taught me how to develop the communication skills and analytical thinking necessary to address global challenges. In this team setting, I was able to contribute directly toward impactful projects while gaining greater clarity on my passion for non-profit leadership.”
— Michael Bakan, Marketing and Communications Intern-Georgetown university
As a SOCOBA intern, I have had a rewarding and insightful experience. Not only did I have the opportunity to learn more about the communities of Botswana with regards to sexual, reproductive and mental health, but I was able to work with an amazing and dedicated team. Working on the StandUp4BotsYouth! campaign has been an exciting endeavor, and I hope that we are able to impact the youth of Botswana in a positive way through this program.
